Discover Curlys On The Boardwalk, a relaxed Australian café and restaurant at 6 Breezeway St, Mount Coolum QLD 4573, Australia, just a short walk from the Sunshine Coast shoreline. From a food blogger’s perspective, Curlys On The Boardwalk gets the fundamentals right: seasonal café cooking, quality coffee, breezy outdoor seating, and a genuinely welcoming neighbourhood atmosphere. Its combination of breakfast, brunch, seafood, burgers, salads, and modern Australian lunch dishes makes it equally suitable for an early coffee or a leisurely midday meal.
The current menu generally falls around A$20–A$40 per person. Breakfast choices include Bacon & Eggs at about A$24.50, Buttermilk Pancakes at A$25.50, Bacon Eggs Benny at A$25.50, and Corn Fritters around A$26.50. At lunch, Fish Tacos and Beer Battered Flathead & Chips are approximately A$25.50, while the Chili Prawn Linguini reaches about A$33. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available. Amenities include takeaway, reservations, outdoor seating, wheelchair access, free parking, table service, alcohol, highchairs, and pet-friendly alfresco dining.
One standout at Curlys On The Boardwalk in Mount Coolum is the Crispy Pork Belly Salad. The pork brings a rich, caramelised exterior and tender centre, balanced by fresher salad elements that stop the dish from becoming too heavy. A March 2026 diner called the pork belly Asian salad “divine,” while another recent guest praised the freshness and quick preparation of the meal.
For a classic coastal lunch, the Beer Battered Flathead & Chips is another strong choice. The fish delivers the contrast diners want from this style of dish: delicate flesh wrapped in a crisp batter, with golden chips making it comforting without overcomplicating things. A January 2026 visitor ordered fish and chips alongside a burger and described the food quality as excellent.
At breakfast, the Corn Fritters deserve attention. Served with bacon, smashed avocado, tomato relish, poached egg, rocket, and snow pea sprouts, they combine sweet corn, creamy avocado, smoky bacon, and fresh greens in one substantial plate. They are a good example of how the kitchen turns familiar café ingredients into something more layered.
The atmosphere is one of Curlys On The Boardwalk’s biggest advantages. Indoor seating is comfortable, but the shaded outdoor deck is particularly appealing, with plenty of space and an easy coastal feel. Dogs are welcome outside, and recent guests have even mentioned staff bringing water bowls for pets. Coffee is another strength; one April 2026 customer enjoyed it enough to order a second cup.
The main limitation is price: some visitors consider the menu slightly expensive for casual café dining, although portion size, setting, and service often balance that perception. The restaurant is also closed on Mondays.
For anyone exploring the best restaurants in Mount Coolum for relaxed local dining experiences, Curlys On The Boardwalk deserves consideration for its fresh seasonal menu, pork belly, seafood, strong coffee, dog-friendly deck, and warm coastal atmosphere. Popped down for an amazing lunch of Chilli Prawn Linguini (the other half had beautifully presented Pork Belly again) … both meals were outstanding in flavour and presentation. The muffin selection changes frequently and todays Cherry, White Choc and Almond, (so full of fruit) is going to be a new favourite. The relaxed atmosphere here is wonderfully complimented by the exemplary service from Jo, Elizabeth and Wayne. We highly recommend taking a moment to pop in and enjoy the ambience that this superb team have created.
We dropped by this café after flying from Sydney to Sunshine Coast — such a lovely spot! The staff were super friendly and really looked after us. Coffee was hot and tasty, and the food was good too (one poached egg was a little firm but no biggie). One of the ladies there even gave us some great local tips. The place has a warm, welcoming vibe, and the beach is just a short walk away. Highly recommend!
Lovely atmosphere, comfy lounges, watching blue faced honey eaters fly around. Just decided on drinks due to food being a bit too pricey. Staff very pleasant.
Delicious food. I had the crispy salmon and rice and my wife had the fish tacos - both very tasty. The sweet potato fries were divine. Lovely service, easy to get a seat ( even though I'd reserved but a few minutes before). Food prices slightly on the higher end. I would certainly come back again.
Stopped here for brunch, which was fairly busy Friday morning. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly and welcoming. Lovely food choices for breakfast. All next to the boardwalk leading to the beach.
Had an amazing relaxed lunch here with a friend. Food was fantastic.. simple, well done & very tasty. Staff were efficient but laid back. Great atmosphere enveloped by trees and a lovely breeze. Definitely recommend.
We just loved our visit to Curlys today. The service was excellent, the food beautifully presented and we all agreed it tasted amazing. We went for a walk along the boardwalk down to the beach after and had coffee before driving home. Finding Curlys today just made our day and we hope to come back and try something else on the menu another time. Thank you for such a friendly welcoming experience!
